When Will China Get One Car One Charging Pile?

Green, energy-saving, and state-encouraged purchases – In recent years, new energy vehicles have been welcomed by consumers. However, more and more cars, unable to find charging piles have been annoying consumers, becoming a major bottleneck in the development of new energy vehicle industry.

It is understood that new energy vehicles are experiencing explosive growth in 2015. In September of that year, the State Council introduced preferential policies for the reduction of purchase tax to support the development of new energy vehicles. According to data released by the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, sales of new energy vehicles reached 331,100 units in 2015, an increase of 340%. In the same period, the phenomenon that “traditional fuel trucks are difficult to shake and new energy vehicles are convenient on the cards”, which is common in Beijing and Hangzhou, has also prompted many consumers to turn to new energy vehicles, so that the sales of new energy vehicles will grow rapidly for several years. According to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in 2018, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 1.27 million and 1.256 million, respectively, an increase of 59.9% and 61.7% over the same period of the previous year. Among them, pure electric vehicles accounted for the bulk, with production and sales of 986,000 and 984,000 respectively. China is already the world's largest manufacturer and owner of new energy vehicles.

However, the car produced much more and sold faster, and the corresponding charging infrastructure has not kept up. Liu Yongdong, Secretary-General of the Standardization Technical Committee for Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities in the Energy Industry, said: "Although the number of charging piles has increased year by year in recent years, it still cannot meet the development needs." At present, more than 600,000 charging piles have been built nationwide, and more than Compared with the stock of 2 million new energy vehicles, the gap is large.

Not only can it not meet the actual needs, the construction scale of the charging pile is far from the planning goal. According to the previously published "Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Development Guide (2015-2020)", more than 4.8 million decentralized charging piles will be built by 2020 to meet the charging requirements of 5 million electric vehicles nationwide. In contrast, the number of charging posts is too small.

China's electric vehicle charging infrastructure promotion alliance released in July 2018, "China Charging Infrastructure Development Annual Report 2017-2018 Edition" shows that China's charging facilities industry form has shifted from the initial charging business to the new energy vehicle travel service ecology. Construct. Drip's small orange charging is to cooperate with the charging pile operation company. After screening, it will access the public charging pile resources online, and provide charging services for new energy owners through APP. Liu Yongdong believes that such exploration is conducive to the realization of information interconnection in the industry, and there should be more innovations in the future to improve the utilization efficiency of charging piles.
